FiberGrafiX provides a complete application suite for creating, organizing, modifying, analyzing, and optimizing filament winding projects. FiberGrafiX clearly displays data using 3-D graphics with data and graphic cursors linking the graphic display with tabular data.
- The Project Manager organizes winding projects allowing lamina data and winding motions to be examined, created, edited, ordered and linked together. The software allows fiber path optimization with overlay using friction modeling. The user can create winding surfaces from menus or import them from CAD files. Winding surfaces are updated as the surface changes during winding.
- The software uses parametric modeling to create entire families of winding projects by simply changing mandrel dimensions or importing the parametric winding model into new mandrel geometry.
- The lamina data defined in the project manager allow for easy creation of finite element analysis (FEA) models.
- A unique winding motion editor provides an extensive command set to modify machine motion, fiber coverage, time base and acceleration smoothing. Advanced graphic simulation shows machine motion with the fiber being placed on the mandrel. This allows winding programs for most patterns to be debugged without a winding machine.
